
Nursing Assistants (also called Certified Nursing Assistants or CNAs) support nurses and other healthcare professionals by providing basic care to patients. They help patients with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and contribute to a safe and comfortable care environment in hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare facilities.
Assist with daily living activities: Help patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding. Monitor patient health: Measure and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration). Mobility support: Help patients move in bed, transfer to wheelchairs, or walk safely. Maintain hygiene: Change bed linens, keep patient areas clean, and support infection control. Emotional support: Provide companionship, listen to patients’ concerns, and help them feel comfortable. Assist medical staff: Report changes in patient condition to nurses or doctors promptly. Basic medical procedures: Apply dressings, assist with catheter care, or help with range-of-motion exercises (depending on facility policy). Documentation: Accurately update patient records on daily activities, intake, and output.

Physical Stamina – Assisting patients, lifting, or helping with mobility tasks. Teamwork – Working closely with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare staff. Basic Technical Skills – Using thermometers, blood pressure cuffs, and other medical equipment safely. Time Management – Balancing multiple care tasks during busy shifts.
